System development that meets requirements and is consistent

An article by Dr.-Ing. Hansjörg Manz (ESE GmbH) entitled “Requirements-based and consistent system development” was published in issue 4/2017 of the journal “Internationales Verkehrswesen”.

In the article, the author presents parts of the results of his dissertation, focusing on requirements for a technical system in rail transport, which are derived from a variety of input documents such as standards, laws or documents of the operator. This article presents an analysis and structured presentation of requirements as a basis for consistent system development in line with requirements, taking into account the specifications of all parties involved. This approach is particularly important in rail transportation due to the safety relevance of systems.
