Assessment Service Center offers conformity assessments according to TSI

In the future, there should no longer be any technical obstacles to cross-border rail traffic. In order to achieve such a universally usable rail system, the technical specifications for interoperability (TSI) define the characteristics that rail subsystems must have for European rail traffic. One of the subsystems under consideration is the track-side and on-board train control, train protection and signaling system (ZZS). “Notified Bodies Interoperability” assess the subsystem for compliance with the EC Directives and the applicable technical specifications.

The Assessment Service Center (ASC) of ESE Engineering und Software-Entwicklung GmbH is accredited as an inspection body according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 and carries out inspections on individual aspects of a TSI on behalf of a Notified Body Interoperability. On September 6, 2016, the management of ESE signed a framework agreement with a Notified Body for Interoperability. The ASC thus offers its customers services from a single source: by bundling the expert assessment of functional safety (Independent Safety Assessments) with the assessment of conformity to the TSI, customers benefit from significant synergy effects.

“Signing the framework agreement with a notified body for interoperability enables us to put together customer-oriented overall service packages. Our customers have a common, competent contact at the ASC for several trades in their projects,” emphasizes the head of the ASC, Dr.-Ing. The management emphasizes: “Our customers value the ASC as a high-performance, reliable partner that takes responsibility for expert issues in the projects. We are now looking forward to supplementing the established provision of expert services with additional conformity assessment services.”
