New management of the ESE Assessment Service Center

Dr.-Ing. Lars Schnieder was appointed Head of the Assessment Service Center (ASC) at ESE Engineering und Software-Entwicklung GmbH on July 1, 2016.

During his studies in industrial engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (USA), Mr. Schnieder’s technical focus was already on the safety of railroad systems. Following his studies, he worked for several years in the rail industry, including as a safety manager on international customer projects. He completed his doctorate in the field of reliability of technical systems at the Technical University of Braunschweig while working.

In his subsequent work at the Institute of Transportation Systems Engineering at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), he was responsible for setting up a comprehensive research infrastructure for testing vehicle automation and driver assistance on public roads.

Lars Schnieder’s focus at the ASC is on tapping further market potential for safety assessments in the automotive, industrial and rail sectors. “The Assessment Service Center has a highly qualified and committed team. The opportunities for further development of our business in the coming years are enormous,” says Lars Schnieder.
