Securing connected vehicles on the road to autonomous driving

In October 2018, the new Springer essentials by Dr.-Ing. Lars Schnieder and René S. Hosse was published with the title “Leitfaden Automotive Cybersecurity Engineering”.

What’s not secure is not safe – special protective measures are required to ensure that the functional safety of motor vehicles is not compromised by unauthorized access from outside. This essential uses concrete examples to illustrate how the attack security of automotive systems is taken into account from the outset through targeted system design, implementation and testing. With a view to the production and operation of automotive systems, it becomes clear that protection against unauthorized access does not end with the completion of development. It is a continuous activity throughout the life cycle and requires sustained attention from all suppliers involved and the vehicle manufacturer.

The digital version of the essentials can be purchased from Springer Verlag here. The print edition will be available in stores from 20.11.2018.
